Developing All-Around Players

While group work with Post Men on one end of the court and Guards at the other end is a great
way to develop specific position fundamentals, coaches should remember to develop all aspects
of every player's game.
Post Men need ball handling skills, (dribbling, passing, perimeter defense) and Guards need post
fundamentals too (post moves, faking, rebounding, inside defense). After or before the position
breakdown sessions, a coach would be wise to have a session where all players work on a
different fundamental or two every day. And on other days, the position groups can swap
workouts and improve their all-aound play.
