A good way to teach perimeter players to look into and pass into the post player is to make
specific drills for this goal. During half court offensive work, require perimeter players to
pass the ball into the post before anyone can take a shot. The post is allowed to score if
he has a good shot, but he should pass it back out to a perimeter player, if he is not able
to get a good shot. Perimeter players can use this opportunity to cut to the basket, relocate
for an outside shot, or move and fill an open space. This drill will teach the posts and
perimeter players to work together for a good shot attempt.
